Definitions:

  • aswaaq retail LLC: A limited liability company established under the laws of UAE, registered with the Dubai Economic Department under license no. 808289.
  • wafa: is the exclusive Loyalty Program of aswaaq retail LLC, launched in 2008. It offers the customers several benefits such as cash back on monthly purchases. wafa trade mark is registered with the Ministry of Economy under numbers 119663 & 103543.
  • wafa points: is the points earned by "wafa" members on each purchase conducted within any branch. The points are calculated in accordance with the terms and conditions below. A wafa point equals to 1 UAE Fils; 100 wafa points equal 1 UAE Dirham.
  • wafa members: are customers registered under wafa loyalty program and carry wafa membership number.
  • Monthly Purchases: are all purchases conducted by wafa members in branch including online shopping platform, excluding the items mentioned in the terms and conditions below.
  • Month: is the Gregorian month that is calculated according to the Gregorian calendar in which it begins with the beginning of each calendar month and ends by the end of it.
  • Smart Application “aswaaq”: is a smart application the enables wafa members to view their purchase lists, earned wafa points as well as resetting their password and many other features.
  • Statement of Account: is the report that discloses the transactions conducted in any branch. The report is issued on a regular basis and can be reviewed through the website www.aswaaqretail.ae
  • Taxes and Charges: is the taxes and other charges imposed according to the Federal Law no. (7) for the year 2017 on tax procedures, it’s amendments and related executive regulations.
  • Payment through Wafa Points: is paying for the purchased items using wafa points that was earned through previous purchases or was loaded into the account.
  • Working Days: are the working days starting from Sunday to Thursday, which are not including weekends or official holidays in the country.
  • The Country: is the United Arab Emirates.
  • Promotions and Special Prices: are special promotions offered especially for wafa members from time to time.

wafa Terms and Conditions

The Loyalty Program

wafa” is the exclusive Loyalty Program of aswaaq retail LLC, launched in 2008. It offers the customers several benefits such as cash back on monthly purchases. The trademark is registered under Ministry of Economy, UAE on 19th May 2010.

wafa points is the points earned by "wafa" members on each purchase conducted within any aswaaq store and/or online. The points are calculated as per the eligibility and table of benefits (shown below) A wafa point equals to 1 UAE Fils 100 wafa points equal 1 UAE Dirham.

Registration

The registration process in wafa program for becoming a member of wafa can be done in any of these simple ways.

All aswaaq customers are entitled to register in our wafa loyalty program. Each customer has a unique wafa membership number where they can earn and redeem wafa points.

Customer must be minimum 18 years old to become a member.

The wafa membership is absolutely free of charge and open to all shoppers of aswaaq. The membership is open for life, however if the account is not used for over 3 years it would be put in a dormant mode and would not be accessible.

Benefits of the program

All registered wafa members are entitled for the following benefits:

  • Earning & redeeming wafa points.
  • Up to 10% Cash Back on monthly purchases!
  • En cashing the earned wafa points.
  • Exclusive promotions and special offers.
  • Loading wafa account with points.
  • Transferring points from one account to another.
  • Donating the monetary value of the points to charitable organizations. For example, Fils for Charity, where you can donate the remaining denomination of your bill.
  • Receiving the statement of account through email on monthly basis.
  • Using the Smart Application (aswaaq) where you can purchase items at our supermarkets / marts without the need to wait in the que, you can self-checkout!
  • Being able to use the online platform for shopping as you automatically are eligible to use the same with a wafa membership.

Wafa Point Calculation and Earnings

Wafa Benefits

Cash or wafa points Card
A wafa Member earn one (1) wafa point for each Dirham spent in any aswaaq store including online or in self check out, excluding taxes and other fees. In case the payments are through cash or wafa points, the additional points and cash back are calculated as follows: In case the payments are done through credit cards, debit cards, ATM cards, Nol Cards or any way other than cash payment or through wafa points, the additional points and the cash back on monthly purchases will be calculated as follows, provided that the member shall maintain the earning of one (1) wafa point for each Dirham spent in any branch including the online shopping platform, excluding taxes and other fees:
10 % cash back 8 % cash back
If the monthly purchases are equal to or greater than AED 3,000, excluding taxes and other fees, a wafa member will be entitled to earn nine (9) additional wafa points for every AED 1 excluding taxes and other fees spent in any branch including the online shopping platform. Example: The total earned points would be ten (10) for every AED 1 which equals to 10% cash back on monthly purchases If the monthly purchases are equal to or greater than AED 3,000, excluding taxes and other fees, a wafa member will be entitled to earn seven (7) additional wafa points for every AED 1, excluding taxes and other fees, spent in any branch including the online shopping platform. Example: The total earned points would be eight (8) for every AED 1 which equals to 8% cash back on monthly purchases.
5 % cash back 3% cash back
If the monthly purchases are equal to AED 1,500 and less than AED 3,000, excluding taxes and other fees, a wafa member will be entitled to earn four (4) additional wafa points for every AED 1, excluding taxes and other fees, spent in any branch including the online shopping platform. Example: The total earned points would be five (5) for every AED 1 which equals to 5% cash back on monthly purchases. If the monthly purchases are equal to AED 1,500 and less than AED 3,000, excluding taxes and other fees, a wafa member will be entitled to earn two (2) additional wafa points for every AED 1, excluding taxes and other fees, spent in any branch including the online shopping platform. Example: The total earned points would be three (3) for every AED 1 which equals to 3% cash back on monthly purchases.
1% cash back 1% cash back
If the monthly purchases are less than AED 1,500, excluding taxes and other fees, a wafa member will be entitled to earn (1) wafa point for every AED 1, excluding taxes and other fees, spent in any aswaaq store including the online shopping platform. Example: The total points earned would be one (1) for every AED 1 which equals to 1% cash back on monthly purchases. If the monthly purchases are less than AED 1,500, excluding taxes and other fees, a wafa member will be entitled to earn (1) wafa point for every AED 1, excluding taxes and other fees, spent in any aswaaq store including the online shopping platform. Example: The total earned points would be one (1) for every AED 1 which equals to 1% cash back on monthly purchase

Please Note: If an invoice is paid for in Cash and Card combined in a single transaction, the percentage on the entire transaction the member will earn would be based on card.

Paying with wafa Points

Customers can pay for your purchased items using wafa’ s earned or loaded loyalty points through the process of redemption.

Wafa Points Collection

Customers can earn wafa points by simply giving their registered mobile number or wafa number to the cashier before their transactions are processed to earn the points or scanning their wafa card from the aswaaq app.

Wafa Redemption

Any wafa member have the right to redeem his wafa points and/or use them against purchases and/or donate its monetary value to charitable organizations and/or transfer them to another wafa account according to the following steps:

  • Present your wafa membership number, scan your wafa card from the app or give the registered mobile number to the cashier before the transactions are processed.
  • Enter the pin number to finish the payment process. (a pin number can be generated, earlier during the registration process, or while downloading the app or through the call centre)
  • Redeemed points will be deducted from the customer's account immediately after finishing the payment process.
  • A receipt is issued for every redemption process.

Wafa Encashment

Any wafa member have the right to encash his or her wafa points as per the process below:

  • Present a valid Emirates ID to the cashier.
  • Present your wafa membership number.
  • Present your wafa digital card on the app for scanning
  • Enter the pin number to finish the encashment process.
  • A receipt is issued for every encashment process.
  • wafa points may be uncashed between the 12th and 22nd day of every month.
  • Encashment process is only applicable for the exchange of AED 100 and its multiples up to a maximum of AED 3,000 per day.

Encashed wafa points will be deducted from the customer’s account immediately after finishing the encashment process.

Wafa Transfer of Points

Any wafa member have the right to transfer his or her earned or loaded points to any other account according to the following steps:

  • Present wafa membership number, membership card on the app or Mobile Number registered under the respective account.
  • Present a valid identification document i.e., Emirates ID, Passport, etc.
  • The transfer will be reflected in the customer's account balance within 72 hours (working days, excluding weekends and public holidays).

Charity

Yes, you can. You need to inform the cashier while you are making your payment and they will donate the same. There is a list of charity organizations you can choose from at the cashiers.

Loading of Points on Wafa Account

Any wafa member has the right to load cash to his or her account by paying the amount directly to the cashier in any aswaaq store through the following steps.

  • Present wafa membership number, membership card on the app or Mobile Number registered under the respective account.
  • Loading points/credit is accepted for any amount starting from 1 fils up to maximum AED 3,000 per day.

A wafa member will be entitled for (100) points for every AED (1) loaded.

Miscellaneous

Statement of account

  • A statement of account will be issued to each wafa member illustrating the monthly transactions happened during the same month.
  • The monthly statement of account will be sent to the registered email address.
  • Each wafa member must review and verify the issued statement and notify aswaaq   retail of any discrepancies within 7 working days from the date of receipt. Otherwise, the statement of account shall be considered final and approved by the wafa member.

Validity of wafa points

  • Earned or loaded wafa points/credit in each wafa member's account will be valid for 24 months from the date of earning or loading them and the points/credit will expire by the end of this period if not used or acquired by any mean mentioned in this terms and conditions.
  • A wafa member cannot claim his/her expired points/credit.

Non entitlement of points

A wafa member may NOT be entitled to the earning points in the following cases :

  • If the total purchases of one item during a month exceeded AED 500.
  • In case of purchasing Prepaid Cards i.e. NOL, Salik, Telephone Cards, i-tunes, etc.
  • In case of purchasing a product subject to excise taxation customer will earn 1%

Reset wafa password

The password can be reset through The Smart Application (aswaaq) or Customer Service Center (800aswaaq). A text message will be sent to the registered mobile number for a deduction of 10 wafa points, which is equivalent to 10 Fils.

Cancellation of wafa membership

To cancel membership, customer can visit the nearest aswaaq store and submit your request through our Customer Service Counter. If value of the available wafa points/credit is less than AED 100, the wafa Member may redeem the same in any aswaaq store prior to cancellation or transfer it to another valid account.

aswaaq Mobile Application

"aswaaq app” is a smart application that enables wafa members to view their purchase history lists, earned and redeemed wafa points as well as expiry details.

Some of the other features are:

  • Changing or resetting their PIN and password.
  • Updating their personal details.
  • Looking at the latest promotions offers in store.
  • Online shopping.
  • Giving Feedback and Suggestions
  • Our locations and
  • Customers can also use the self-checkout counters to purchase their items at the designated self-checkout area and pay by card or wafa points!
Payment through aswaaq Mobile Application

Paying through aswaaq Mobile Application is easy! The below payments are acceptable:

  • wafa Points
  • e-wallet, the payment gateway of Etisalat which allows you to load money and pay.
  • Credit or Debit card
  • Pay at POS Counter

General Provisions:

  1. Each wafa member acknowledges and agrees on wafa terms and conditions and using wafa program is an implied acknowledgement and unconditional agreement with all the mentioned terms and conditions.
  2. aswaaq retail reserves the right to modify wafa terms and conditions at any time and without prior notice. aswaaq retail to announce the modifications on the website and by sending an email to wafa members on their registered email address.
  3. aswaaq retail reserves the right to decide on the promotions and discounts offered for wafa members registered in the program.
  4. aswaaq retail reserves the right to cancel any registered wafa account without prior notice.
  5. Each wafa member is fully responsible for the safety and security of his account and pin number and aswaaq retail shall not be held liable for any missing information or data or for any misuse of the account that may arise due to the negligence of a wafa member.
  6. aswaaq retail is expressly exempted from any liability related directly or indirectly to this program. It is also exempted from any legal use, fraudulent use, or any violation of these terms and conditions.
  7. Any dispute that arises from or related to the application of these terms and conditions shall be referred to the Customer Service through call center 800’aswaaq (279227) or email (wafa@aswaaqretail.ae); in the event that such dispute is not resolved amicably, the Member consented that any dispute shall be referred to the Small Claims Tribunal (SCT) under DIFC Courts’ Jurisdiction.
  8. aswaaq retail reserves the right to collect the following information and each wafa member complies with the same:
    • Information provided as part of the membership application and any other information provided by the members through any source of communication.
    • Information related to transactions at any branch.
  9. aswaaq retail retains the information throughout the active membership period to be able to provide the services related to the program. aswaaq retail may retain the information even after the cancelation of the membership whenever necessary to comply with the company’s legal obligations or to meet the regulatory requirements or to prevent fraud and misuse or to enforce privacy policy mentioned herein. Further, it may retain information, for a specified period, if requested by law enforcement.
  10. wafa member hereby authorize aswaaq retail to provide him/her with greetings on special occasions or to request feedback on products and services in addition to providing the members with the following:
    • Latest promotions and offers.
    • Personalized customer service.
    • Online access to the statement of account.
